Thwing, Charles Franklin 1853–1937, American educator and Congregational clergyman. Until 1890 he served parishes in Cambridge, Mass., and Minneapolis. He was president of Western Reserve Univ. (now Case Western Reserve Univ.) and of Adelbert College (the men’s college of that university) from 1890 to his retirement in 1921 and a trustee of the Carnegie Foundation after 1905.
