Internationally, human trafficking has become the third-largest profit-making criminal enterprise after drugs and weapon trading, generating an estimated seven billion US dollars annually. It is estimated that about 12 300 000 people are trafficked worldwide annually and 1 200 000 of these are children. This book aims to analyse international and national legal measures currently in place to address the issue of child trafficking in South Africa; including the prevention of child trafficking, the protection of child victims of trafficking and the prosecution of traffickers.
