The optical fiber loop buffer is considered as a major solution to contention resolution when two or more packets, from different input channels, have to be routed on the same output channel simultaneously. The contending packets are circulated in the loop buffer for a specific amount of time. In this book the performance evaluation and improvement of the optical fiber loop buffer has been investigated.
