Hugh Exton Seebohm (1867-1946) was a British author, born into a well-known Quaker family. He was the son of Frederic Seebohm (1833-1912) the well known author, historian and lawyer. He was educated at Rugby School and lived at Poynder's End, Hitchin, Hertfordshire. He married Leslie Gribble in 1903 by whom he had four children Derrick, Frederick, George and Fidelity. Leslie died in 1913 and he married again in 1933 to Marjorie Lydall. Whilst at Rugby he wrote a poem, Iceland: A Dream (1885) and also later wrote a book On the Structure of Greek Tribal Society (1895), which followed on from his "father's researches into the structure and methods of the Tribal System". He also translated The Picture of Kebes the Theban (1906) and edited his father's work The Oxford Reformers: Colet, Erasmus, and More (1914).
