Arthur Chapman (1873-1935) was an early twentieth century American poet and newspaper columnist. He was born in Rockford, Illinois; and was educated there in public schools. He lived there until 1895 when he married and moved to Chicago where he became a reporter for the Chicago Daily News. Three years later, he moved to Denver, Colorado where he was a reporter and columnist for the Denver Republican for 15 years. He wrote a sub-genre of American poetry known as Cowboy Poetry. His most famous poem was Out Where the West Begins. His other works include: Cactus Center (1921), Mystery Ranch (1921) and The Story of Colorado (1924).
