The tour was announced in April 2012, began on September 7, 2012 in Manchester, New Hampshire and is scheduled to end December 2 in Houston, Texas. A European leg was announced in May 2012 and will begin in Manchester, England and finish in Helsinki, Finland. Before the last show in Helsinki, the band will take part in their first European festival in 35 years at the Sweden Rock Festival. The tour is notable for featuring a string ensemble, marking the first time the band has toured with accompanying musicians aside from opening acts.
