Untanglin' Barbwire is about a boy named 'Salt' who grew up in the hills of West Virginia. In a very tough and challenging time, he loses his mom and dad at a very tender age. Left all alone except for his little hunting dog, Smitty, they try to keep from starving by killing and eating anything that doesn't eat them first. He then moves in with his aunt Liz, and her mean, no-account, lunatic husband, Faud. Faud's main objective seems to be to try and kill Salt, and this leads to their hilarious knock-down drag-out battles to see who's going to survive. Faud tries to burn Salt, and Salt tries to adjust Faud's attitude with a stick of dynamite! Salt inherits his uncle Red's 38 Ford, and he and Smitty take a wild ride around the mountain chased by four motorcycle riders in a life-and-death race. Then there is the wild hilarious relationship of Salt and his bird dog, Hitler, as they try to learn to hunt together without one of them killing the other. Wild and hilarious funny stories...
