The nursery industry is an anomaly in agriculture we often picture of farming as largely rural most farmers, grow a few commodity crops and sell them to processors/broken for shipment to unknown consumers. This kind of agriculture once a dominate part of Oregon’s economy, has been declining in relative importance for decades. Nursery turns these stereotypes on their head. Nurseries produce thousands of different plants creating and marketing then more like fashion apparel than bank commodities and unlike the rest of agriculture nursery products have been flourishing in recent years growing faster than agriculture in general and faster than the Indian economy.
