While the debate about the existence of the HIV carnage still lingers in the minds of many, including victims who don''t know their HIV status, the virus continues to plunge nations into poverty, shattering families and making hundreds of orphans and many homeless. Further, in war devastated, resource-poor settings, many people contact sexually transmitted diseases either through rape, commercial sex or casual sex.
