David Bowie (born David Robert Jones) is a British musician and actor. He began his singing career under the name David Bowie in 1966 and won his first award in 1969, when he won an Ivor Novello Award for the song "Space Oddity". Bowie's first hit album was Hunky Dory in 1971 which reached number three in the UK Albums Chart.
