Основу сборника составляют доклады участников двух международных коллоквиумов, проведенных в Москве (2005 г.) и в Ялте (2006 г.) при финансовой поддержке Фонда русской истории (Нидерланды).There is a growing interest in Russia as well as in the West for the regime of General Baron Peter Wrangel who was Commander-in-chief of the Russian army - the former Volunteer army - and Regent of the Government of South Russia which existed from March to November 1920. The present volume contains papers presented at two seminars: one in Moscow from 5-6 September 2005 and other in Yalta from 21-23 June 2006. All contributions deal with different aspects of Wrangel's government such as: agrarian reforms, government structure, military questions, relations with the different Cossack communities. The seminars have been organized by the Scientific Council for the Study of Social Reform, Development and Revolution of the Russian Academy of Science, the Taras Shevchenko Kiev National University Center for Ukrainian Studies and the Foundation of Russian History in The Netherlands which sponsored both seminars.
