The book presents a comprehensive study of the Coinage of the Ikhshidid Dynasty which rule Egypt during the Abbasid times in the period 323-358 AH (935-969 AD). Part two: Catalogue of Ikhshidid Numismatic Material and presents the following:- Standard Coin Types- Gold Coins divided by ruler- Silver Coins divided by ruler- Other Numismatic Material- Catalogue Abbreviations- Notes- BibliographyThe book is well written and is easy to follow and is full of very useful information and description of the coins and their importance. Very interesting and important explanations with regard to the right of coinage (Sikka). Author goes very much in detail and describes who was allowed to put which part of his name on coins and how important the position on the coin was. These rules described with Ikhshidid coinage as a sample were valid also for other rulers and amirs connected somehow to the Abbasids.The book also has many black and white photos of coins of the Ikhshidid era throughout and in a dedicated section in the back of the book.
