The Russian art of the second half of the nineteenth century is synonymous with the painting of the Peredvizhniki (Critical Realists). The creative and ethical energy of one of the most important periods in Russian history is brilliantly captured in the canvases of Ilya Repin, Vasily Surikov, Ivan Shishkin, Isaac Levitan, Ivan Kramskoi, Nikolai Ge, Vasily Perov, Vladimir Makovsky, Fyodor Vasilyev, Alexei Savrasov, Arkhip Kuindzhi, Vasily Polenov and Victor Vasnetsov. In this respect, such an intimate form of creativity as graphic art is often overshadowed by painting, to which it ostensibly plays second fiddle. An analysis of the evolution of drawing, however, reveals an altogether different picture of its relationship with painting.. Формат: 25 см х 31,5 см.
