The major question that this book analyze is, “Why hasn’t India marked it’s presence in the Global Food market given it’s an agrarian economy?” The book starts by giving a brief overview of Indian agriculture sector post 1991. It further talks about the recent issues related to Food safety and standard and its effect on Indian Exports of agricultural commodities. Given the recent awareness about health and growing concern about good quality food, the international standards set are high which are difficult to match by developing countries, like India.
